A STRUCTURED PREDESIGN APPROACH DERIVED THROUGH SYSTEMATICAL ANALYSIS TO IMPROVE THE SHIP'S INITIAL DESIGN
The paper addresses the question of how the technical quality of the design for tender can effectively be improved. It presents some intermediate results gained from an ongoing research aiming at reorganisation of the current ship predesign process by means of structured techniques, thus increasing its efficiency and enhancing its effectiveness. The paper presents the reference model for the developed computer supported predesign system based on the structured process.
