TROLL FLOATER LEADS TO CONCRETE SEMI DESIGN

The article describes the Troll Olje Platform, the world's first catenary-anchored floating concrete platform. The concrete structure consists of a four-column platform. The concrete structure consists of a four-column hull connected by four pontoons. Total height of the structure is 65m and it contains 43 000m3 of high strength concrete. The platform will carry a topside with modules containing process equipment, support-systems and accommodation facilities for 100 people. The weight of the platform will be approximately 130 000t. A maximum of 33 flexible risers can be tied back to the concrete semi serving up to five clusters of subsea wells and oil and gas export from the platform.
