Expressly built to carry coal to Japan's new power stations, primarily from Australian ports, CORONA ACE operates at a shallower draught than comparable vessels, yet can still offer the significant deadweight capacities of 77,447 tonnes on a maximum (summer) load draught of 12.89m, and 69,940 tonnes on a design draught of 11.80m, at which a full cargo of coal can be carried. The vessel was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, Japan. The article includes general arrangement drawings.
