EFFECT OF CORROSION AND ITS PROTECTION ON HULL STRENGTH (2ND REPORT)

Diminution and deterioration of structural members is a serious problem in ship structures. The diminution of structural members has an effect on the deterioration of the structural performance of the ship hull. Therefore it is necessary to investigate the relationship between the diminution of structural members and the deterioration of structural performance of the ship hull. This paper describes the following: 1) statistical characters of the annual corrosion rage of each member 2) deterioration rate of section modulus of the hull due to structural members and 3) buckling strength of stiffened panels considering the effect of structural diminution and deterioration.
