EXTREME MOTION RESPONSE SIMULATION WITH A TIME DOMAIN MODEL DEVELOPED FOR MOORED SEMI-SUBMERSIBLES
In this report parametric studies are carried out to simulate some of the incidents of a storm in the North Sea in December 1990 in which some mooring line failures occurred. Effects of first order wave forces, use of thrusters, sudden change of direction of wind and damping on the extreme motion response simulation of moored semisubmersibles are investigated.
