VELOCITY FIELDS IN COASTAL WATERS

The wave elevation and the in-line and transverse velocity components measured at three coastal locations, two of which inside a groin field have been analyzed in the frequency domain. At each location, the velocities were measured at three different elevations above the sea bed. The raw data has been passed through a high pass filter with a cut off frequency 0.05 Hz to separate the effect of swash oscillations. The spectra for the data with and without filter have been obtained, the results of which are presented and discussed in this paper.
