THE PRACTICAL IMPLICATION OF SOLAS 90 ON EXISTING RO/RO PASSENGER SHIPS
This paper primarily addresses the practical implication of the proposed SOLAS '90 survivability requirements on existing ro/ro passenger ships and the modifying of such ships to meet the new requirements. The paper addresses the "devices" investigated in both Phases I and II of the UK ro.ro passenger ship research programme to improve the survivability standards of existing ferries.
