INSPECTION ROBOT SYSTEM FOR HULL STRUCTURE

Inspection of tanks onboard crude oil tankers is a difficult operation due to the size of the tanks and residual sludge. An inspection robot system has been developed to carry out these inspections easily, safely and accurately. By means of remote/automatic operation from the upper deck, pretreatment tools, a television camera for remote visual inspection, and sensors for cracks and plate thicknesses can access narrow areas.
