ON A NUMERICAL SIMULATION FOR PREDICTING OF SHIP MANOEUVRING PERFORMANCE

The numerical simulation for predicting ship manoeuvring characteristics at the design stage is discussed. The approximate formulae for estimating hydrodynamic forces on a ship are shown and compared with the measured results of a free running model test. The results showed good agreement.
