DIESEL-ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEMS FOR PASSENGER SHIPS
The power and propulsion plant of the cruise vessel FANTASY is described. The diesel-electric plant concept features and integrated high and low voltage power station, based on six medium-speed diesel alternators generating propulsion by two highly skewed propellers. Each propeller is driven by a synchronous ac motor. Operating experiences are discussed. Copies are available from Sterling Publications Ltd, 86-88 Edgeware Road, London, W2 2YW, UK.
