UNDERSTANDING AND PREVENTING CORROSION IN WELDED JOINTS

In this paper the author describes some of the more common problems associated with the corrosion performance of welds in ferritic, hardenable C/Mn and stainless steels. Methods of preventing corrosion by the selection of appropriate design and welding parameters are also discussed.
