ANALYSIS OF DEEPWATER TLP MOORINGS
Mooring System designs have been developed for a 90,000 t displacement Tension Leg Platform (TLP) in 1000 m of water and a Northwest UK Continental Shelf environment. This paper presents the engineering approach used for analysis of the tether, its dynamic behaviour, fatigue life and defect growth rates. Analysis results, including tether section stability, behaviour in installation and extreme conditions, fatigue predictions, viscous flow effects and defect growth rates are presented.
