THE EFFECTS OF IRON ON THE CORROSION PROPERTIES AND HYDROGEN ABSORPTION OF TITANIUM IN CHLORIDE ENVIRONMENTS

The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of solid-solution iron and ferric ions on the electrochemical properties, hydrogen absorption and microstructure of titanium. The experiments are carried out for titanium in crevice and non-creviced specimens and in active and passive states. The microstructures and the oxide layers are studied by conventional and surface analytical methods.
