MAJOR PRESENT TRENDS IN MATHEMATICAL THEORY OF PLASTICITY

The book analyzes mathematical theories of plasticity that connect deformation and stress increases (flow theory), finite deformations and stressed states (deformation theory), stress and deformation tensor on the basis of statistical averaging (statistical theories). The various strengthening conditions, defining the character of change of the load surface during the process of plastic deformation, are described in detail. Four main types of strengthening are analyzed: isotropic, kinematic, combined and the one connected with the formation of singular loading surfaces. A comparison between the various viscosity conditions, strengthening conditions, and plasticity theories on the basis of experimental data is conducted. (Author)
