VIBRATIONS OF PIPELINES IN SCOUR TRENCHES

The present paper reviews the results of a model test study with the aim of determining the hydroelastic vibrations of a marine pipelines placed in the vicinity of a scoured trench and exposed to waves. The model pipe has two degrees of freedom. Pipe displacements and forces have been measured. it turns out that the presence of the scour trench protects the pipe against vibrations.
