DESIGN OF SIMPLIFIED LOW MASS RATIO FLUTTER MODELS
The design of hydrodynamic flutter models is a difficult compromise between adequate flexibility to ensure flutter within the relatively restricted speed range of existing facilities and adequate strength to withstand the static loading imposed by small misalignments or excitation deflections. The investigation was restricted to configurations which could be machined from a single, solid piece of material by simple sawing, drilling, or milling operations, other than the contouring of the external surfaces.
