THE HALIOS PROJECT WITHIN THE EUREKA PROGRAM: AN EXPERIMENT IN SPANISH PARTICIPATION IN AN INTERNATIONAL R & D PROJECT

This paper deals with the work carried out by Spanish organisations in a research project forming part of the EEC Eureka Program, and which is intended to lead to the development of an optimised fishing boat design, under the title of Halios (Fishing Boat of the 90s). The aims, development phases, technological research areas and overall planning of the project are reviewed. A description is given of the organisation required in a project of this type and the development of the study so far.
