RO-RO, CAR AND PASSENGER FERRY KRONPRINS HARALD

This vessel has been built by Wartsila for the Jahre Line service between Oslo and Kiel. Accommodation is provided for 728 tourist class passengers in 245 cabins and 592 first class passengers in 217 cabins. The public rooms include a meetings and conference centre that can accommodate 160 delegates or that can be subdivided into three meeting rooms, all with facilities for audiovisual aids. Among the extensive restaurant facilities is a banqueting room that can be converted into a further conference room with up to 190 seats. The vehicle decks can carry 283 cars and 73 trailers. Propulsion is of the father-and-son type with each of the highly-skewed cp propellers being driven through reduction gearing by a Wartsila-Sulzer 12 ZAV 40 engine developing 6600kW and a Wartsila-Sulzer 6 ZAL 40 engine developing 3300kW. Principal dimensions are: Length oa/bp 166.26/150m; breadth, max. 32.4m; depth 14.1m; draught 6.7m. A general-arrangement drawing is given.
