THE EFFECT OF FUEL FORMULATION ON THE ATOMIZATION CHARACTERISTICS OF COAL-WATER MIXTURES

The combustion efficiency of coal-water fuels is directly dependent on the quality of the atomised fuel spray, so when comparing such fuels it is important to assess the relative atomisation characteristics of five chemically stabilised fuels prepared from the same high-rank bituminous coal, and representative of commercial products, were determined. The testing, analytical procedures, and the significance of the results are discussed in detail.
