A NOVEL LEVEL GAUGING SYSTEM FOR ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS

The instrument described, known as the GL-90, can be used for gauging the levels of any liquids such as petroleum products, acids, or solvents over the distances up to 40 m, and is designed for use on board ship, offshore, and in industry. The instrument employs radar principles, making use of the reflection of an electromagnetic wave from the surface of the liquid in the tank, and so is housed entirely outside the tank itself. The casing is made of acid-resistant steel and teflon, and so will withstand severe mechanical, physical and chemical environmental conditions.
