DIVER'S LIFE SUPPORT. STATE OF THE ART, FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

The diver's life support system is vital for providing divers with breathing gas under all circumstances, to keep the divers warm, and to prevent heat loss from the body and lungs, and to have a reliable and understandable communication system between diver, bellman and surface. Monitoring equipment is considered as a part of the life support system. In addition to monitoring the diver, monitoring of the life support system itself is necessary. Breathing equipment has been discussed elsewhere, so this paper concentrates on the other parts of the diver's life support system. <CMO>.
