HEAT EMISSION FROM CABLES ON PERFORATED STEEL TRAYS

This report gives results of experiments made to measure heat emission from cables mounted on galvanised perforated steel trays. It includes the effect of varying the spacing between cables on a tray, between trays and between trays and walls and ceilings. Some comments on the effect of different types of tray are included. Application of the heat emission data given here is limited to those who are able to calculate, or who already possess data on internal thermal resistances, conductor a.c. resistance and armour loss, and other information not generally published.
