OFFSHORE SUPPORT VESSELS; NOISE SITUATION AND PROPOSALS FOR NOISE REDUCING MEASURES

In connection with the increasing oil activity offshore, different types of support vessels have been developed. Based on full-scale measurements from 30 offshore support vessels, average noise levels are derived and discussed in relation to various noise-reducing measures employed, i.e. resiliently mounted tunnel thrusters; rotatable thrusters; floating accommodation systems; damping layers.
