CONSUMPTION OF COMPRESSED AIR AS AFFECTED BY CHANGES IN SHIPBUILDING METHODS

The consumption of compressed air in a large Yugoslav shipyard has been measured over a period of years and is correlated with changes that have taken place in the shipbuilding processes and the class of vessel constructed. The particulars that determine the specific consumption of compressed air for typical shipbuilding processes are presented, and the relationship between the consumption of compressed air and the steel throughput is given.
