DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVED VERSION OF MARINE WASTE HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM

To meet the ever-increasing demand for energy-saving, Mitsubishi H.I. have recently developed an improved version of their Advanced Waste Heat Recovery System. The new version is designed to augment the advantages of the dual-pressure exhaust-gas economiser and to use low-pressure steam more effectively, in order to increase the generated power, by employing an HP/LP mixed generator turbine. The system, already being successfully used in several ships, is here described, together with its development.
