THE CONTROLS AND PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR AN OCEANOGRAPHIC RESEARCH VESSEL

The control system installed in this vessel relieves the deck officers of tedious manoeuvring duties through its versatile capability. The entire vessel propulsion system is operated through a microprocessor based single portable joystick controller plugged into either of the bridge wings, the main wheelhouse console, or into a secondary console in the wheelhouse, specially fitted for the handling of overboard lines, etc. from the winch mechanisms.
