The latest specialised ship design from the Papenburg yard of Hermann Surken GmbH is for a 499-BRT medium range general cargo vessel for operation in European canals, on the Rhine and in coastal waters. Five units of the type were delivered in 1983. Principal particulars include: Length 75.5m o.a., 70.5m b.p.; Max. breadth 10.5m; Depth to main deck 3.35m <3.42m>, to poopdeck 5.7m; Freeboard draught 3.32m <3.39m>; Deadweight 1500 t; Cargo capacity 2351 cum <bulk cargo>; Propulsion KHD type SBA 6M 528 diesel engine, 441 kW at 771 rpm. Classification Germanischer Lloyd + 100 A 4 M + MC AUT, SBG SOLAS 1974 and MARPOL 73/78.
