ASSESSMENT OF OCEANOGRAPHIC DATA REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OF OTEC <OCEAN THERMAL ENERGY CONVERSION> PLANTS

This report is in microfiche form. The design, siting, and long-term operation of OTEC plants <floating or bottom-mounted> requires the capability of predicting the effects of the marine environment on the structure. The information currently available is inadequate for this; in-situ measurements are needed, but first there must be discussion between structural analysts and oceanographers to define the oceanographic data that is required.
