MULTI-PURPOSE OFFSHORE SUPPORT VESSEL ORDERED FROM AMELS SHIPYARD BY HEEREMA FOR SURFACE AND SUB-SEA OPERATIONS

The increasing activity of the Heerema Group in the design and development of Remotely Controlled Vehicles <RCVs> and Remotely Operated Vehicles <ROVs> for offshore exploration and exploitation has led to the need for a robot support vessel for which an order has been placed with the Amels Shipyard B.V. The trenching support vessel, newbuilding number 391, will be built for the Blue Fish River S.A. Panama - also a member of the Heerema Group - and delivery is scheduled for mid-June 1984. In addition to the support of trenching operations, the vessel will be equipped to carry out anchor handling operations, towage, diving support duties, pipeline repairs, well servicing, seismic surveys, platform service, standby services and all type RCV and ROV operations. Principal particulars include: Length 80.0m o.a., 72.35m b.p.; Moulded breadth 17.9m; Moulded depth 8.0m; Design draught 5.0m; Maximum draught <approx.> 6.5m; Classification LRS 100 A1- Supply Vessel "Tug" with notations "Anchor Handling Tug", Ice Class III, UMS, LMC, DP <AA>.
