SOME ASPECTS OF THE APPLICATION OF FINITE ELEMENTS TO FLUID MECHANICS

Results are presented for a range of potential flow duct and turbomachinery problems. The finite element method is not restricted to potential flow incompressible problems but can be extended to transonic flows. Viscous and boundary layer flows have also been analysed, principally for Reynold Numbers lower than those commonly encountered in turbomachinery applications.
