SUPERCONDUCTING MOTOR FOR SHIP PROPULSION DEVELOPED BY SUMITOMO H.I. AND JAMDA

The scientific phenomenon of complete disappearance of electrical resistance may be applied to propulsion of ships. This superconducting electric propulsion system is composed of propulsion motors and generators, both using superconducting field winding, helium refrigerators, and other components schematically presented in a diagram. The present program aims to develop key engineering components for a superconducting motor.
