PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION IN ARCTIC SEAS

The paper provides a synopsis of present ideas concerning the installation and operation of Arctic pipelines. Problems of ice scouring, relic iceberg scouring and permafrost are discussed in relation to: 1> Influence of present and ancient ice conditions; 2> feasible protection methods; 3> Installation procedures taking benefit of ice conditions.
