A CRITICAL REVIEW OF HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR USE IN MARINE CONDENSERS

This report is in microfiche form. A variety of heat transfer enhancement techniques is reviewed and evaluated for use in marine condensers. Both tube-side and shell-side enhancement techniques are considered. At present the most promising technique to enhance heat transfer on the tube side is to use one of the commercially available, mildly indented, corrugated tubes.
