MARINE INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS FOR CORROSION AND BIOFOULING RESISTANT COPPER ALLOYS

The developing uses for copper alloys in marine applications have produced a demand for more detailed corrosion and biofouling resistance data, as well as a requirement for improved weld fabrication techniques, particularly in regard to copper alloy cladding of steel. The research and development work currently being carried out by International Copper Research Association, Inc. (INCRA) on both conventional and new applications for copper-nickel alloys and aluminium bronzes is briefly reviewed.
