ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF SAIL POWER DEVICES ON GREAT LAKES BULK CARRIERS

This report is in microfiche form. A brief progress report is given of an investigation into the feasibility of providing Great Lakes bulk carriers with auxiliary sails to enable them to maintain their service speed with reduced fuel consumption. The investigation covers four fields: Data collection, device <e.g. type of rig> investigation, computer model, and financial analysis; progress in these areas is reported.
