NOMOGRAPH SOLVES FOR EQUIVALENT LENGTH OF STRAIGHT DUCT FOR ELBOW

One of the most frequently encountered and difficult problems in the design of fan and duct systems is the calculation of frictional losses in 90 deg. elbows of rectangular cross-sections. The nomograph assumes the combined dynamic and friction losses caused by an elbow as equivalent to the loss in a length of similar straight duct.
