ON THE STUDY OF THE TANK SYSTEM OF 125 000 CU M MRV TYPE LNG CARRIER

Theoretical and experimental analyses were carried out for ship motion, wave load and stress induced in the hull and tank system for a 125 000 cu m MRV type LNG carrier. Computer program calculations and model tests were in close agreement. It is concluded that the stress analyses required in the design of a 125 000 cu m LNG carrier can be achieved with a high degree of accuracy to assure structural safety.
