SOME CRITICAL ASPECTS OF FERRY PLANNING. PHASE II. FINAL REPORT

This report is in microfiche form. Two critical planning aspects with respect to ferry systems are discussed, namely economic analysis and demand prediction. The various ways in which ferry system costs can be categorised and analysed to determine economic viability are considered, with particular reference to operations employing high-speed vessels as compared with conventional vessels. A demand is established and tested against the data for the Staten Island ferry.
