CONTINUOUS APPROXIMATION MODELS IN PHYSICAL DISTRIBUTION: AN OVERVIEW

The authors present an overview of continuous approximation models that have been developed for physical distribution problems over the past thirty years. They propose a taxonomy for differentiating the problems and they classify them into nine types of distribution problems using this taxonomy. Then a brief review of each paper is provided. This paper is aimed at providing quickly and concisely information on how a specific problem has been analysed with a continuous approximation approach. (A)
