STREET FURNITURE - PROBLEMS OF INTEGRATION

This paper examines problems of integrating street furniture into its surroundings in order to achieve its most effective and aesthetically pleasing use. The author considers the design and placing of lighting and signing structures, kerbs, bollards, fences, seating, litter bins, paving, manhole covers, ramps for the disabled, monuments, trees, hedges and other vegetation.
