SPREAD SPECTRUM VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK

As part of research being conducted by California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, for the California Department of Transportation, the Cal Poly Transportation Research Group is developing a wireless spread spectrum digital communications system that can communicate with a large number of vehicles in real time. This system supports research being completed on a test-track and laboratory facility for Advanced Transportation Management and Information Systems (ATMIS). This paper provides information on one example of vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems and their use for IVHS applications.
