SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR ADVANCED TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS CONTROL CENTERS
As the foundation of an integrated IVHS, Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) provides fundamental capabilities for proactive, real-time traffic management. These capabilities include surveillance, monitor, control, incident management, and information management. In a mature IVHS environment, ATMS supplies these capabilities as part of a complete system, an integrated suite of capabilities providing information management and dissemination that enables other segments of IVHS. The purpose of this paper is to describe the ATMS Architecture developed and provide a high level overview of the Support Systems and the Support Subsystems.
