REGULATORY REFORM IN TRANSPORT: SOME RECENT EXPERIENCES. CHAPTER 7. THE POLITICAL FRAMEWORK OF REGULATORY REFORM OF TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES: BUS AND TRUCK DEREGULATION IN CHILE

This paper discusses the political issues behind the regulatory reform of the bus and truck industries in Chile. Sections are provided on: a) the historical context; b) the early Decree Laws of the Military Government; and c) Chile's global economic policy and how this affected its transport sector.
