ROAD LAYOUTS HELP CUT THE SPEED OF ESTATE CARS

The article examines the efforts being made by some councils in establishing traffic calming guidelines and also implementing suc schemes, in both new and existing housing developments, in an eff improve the quality of life for residents. Although existing residential areas are difficult to alter, in the case of new developments such traffic calming measures as chicanes, humps, is speed tables, varying road widths and alignments can be incorpora order to restrain traffic flows.
