FLEXURAL ANALYSIS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS CONTAINING STEEL FIBERS. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE
A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by Byung Hwan Oh, published in this journal (Volume 118, Number 10, October 1992), is presented. The discussion focuses on the effect of steel fibers in relation to ductility of reinforced concrete beams. Espion notes that the behavior of reinforced concrete beams made with fiber concrete was far less satisfactory than those beams made with ordinary or high-strength concrete. The discussion is followed by closure from the author.
