AMBULANCE DRIVER'S HANDBOOK. REVISED

The purpose of this Handbook is to provide a convenient compilation of statutes and regulations relating to equipment and operation of ambulances used for emergency service. The objective of this Handbook is to provide reference and study material for ambulance operators and applicants for ambulance driver certificates. Pertinent statutes and regulations are discussed herein with editorial comment added to interpret or clarify. Section 2512 of the Vehicle Code directs the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol to adopt and enforce regulations governing the operation, equipment, and certification of drivers of all ambulances used for emergency services. Regulations adopted pursuant to Section 2512 relating to ambulance operation and other relevant excerpts from the California Administrative Code and the Vehicle Code are contained in Annexes of this Handbook./Author/
