Marine diesel emissions are likely to come under widespread controls. The author compares typical stationary engine emissions with current regulatory limits and describes the options available to reduce emissions from marine engines. It is explained, too, how the drive to reduce emissions may halt the trend of steadily- decreasing fuel consumption and increase plant cost and complexity.
