SYSTEMATIC EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF SUBMERGED BUOYS' SIZE AND LOCATION ON DEEP WATER MOORING DYNAMICS

The dynamics of mooring lines in deep water applications are examined. In particular, a parameter study is undertaken that aims at presenting extensive numerical data on how the attachment of buoys along the length of the lines affects the static and dynamic behavior of the lines. It is shown how line behavior can be improved by proper selection of the size, number and location of the buoys.
