WAVE-INTERFERENCE EFFECTS ON A FLOATING BODY IN A TOWING TANK
Hydordynamic force coefficients are presented for the heave, surge, pitch, roll and sway of a vertical cylinder in the presence of tank walls. Corresponding results for wave-exciting forces and free-body motions are also shown. Problem solutions are obtained using the method of matched eigenseries. Numerical results show that the occurrence of resonant modes of the tanks can severely alter the hydrodynamic characteristics of the cylinder.
