This hearing is an oversight hearing on the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) stewardship of the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) program. The first PFC collections began on June 1, 1992. As of June 22, 1993, 108 airports had received approval from the FAA to collect PFCs. Included are a summary of the subject matter, a prepared statement submitted by the Hon. N.Y. Mineta, Chairman of the Committee on Public Works and Transportation, the testimony and prepared statements of witnesses, an additional submission for the record, and additions to the record.
